A:  Tell me about your apartment. B:  It’s a two-bedroom apartment with a nice living room, a small bathroom, a kitchen and a laundry room.

« two-bedroom apartment有兩間臥室的公寓。   要注意的是這裡有 “ - “ 符號，後面的名詞不可用複數的唷！！ « bathroom指的是有衛浴設備的浴室，也就是說有馬桶toilet和 浴缸bathtub/tub的那間。有些人會說shower area，因為他家 沒有浴缸，只有淋浴的地方。 «如果有人說 kitchen area，指的是沒有一個專門煮東西的場所，   只有一個可以烹煮食物的區域，可能是客廳的某一區域。 «laundry room洗衣間

A:  Tell me about your living room. B:  There is a stereo system, a speaker, a DVD player and a TV in the wall unit. C:  We have a nice fireplace there. D:  I put a lovely rug under the coffee table.

« 千萬不要用 My living room has 的這種句型講法，非常中式的    英文，又不正確！！要用「there is」或 「there are」    There is a lamp on the end table.    There are some books and magazines on the bookcase.

Emma is a student, and she lives in an apartment by herself.  There is a sofa, a bookcase, a refrigerator and a window in her apartment.  There is a vase on the cabinet, a microwave oven on the cupboard, and a TV suspended from the ceiling.  Her apartment is not big, but it is very comfortable.

這篇寫作要注意的地方：

1.       三單的動詞要能一致

2.      live in居住在某場所或某地方。但我們如果出遊到其他地方或國家，而短暫居留在旅館或別人家時，要用的是stay at或stay with。

A: Where are you staying while you are visiting Taipei?

B: I am staying at Hyatt Hotel.

或 I am staying with my aunt and her family.

3.      studio apartment指的是有自己的衛浴設備的單人套房。

4.      although = though 千萬不可以和but用在同一個句子裡！！

Although Emma’s apartment is small, it is very cozy.

Emma’s apartment is small, but it is very cozy.

5.      在中文裡我們說的『有….』，在英文裡打部分要以『there is 或there are』來呈現。

My living room has a nice coffee table. （û）

There is a nice coffee in my living room. （ü）

6.      dining table餐桌，千萬不可說成dining room table

7.      coffee table茶几，指的是放在客廳裡，沙發前的那張長條形的桌子。而tea table指的是喝下午茶用的桌子或是泡(老人!!)茶用的桌子。
